We wrap up with a discussion on Cody winning the ROH title and preview the G1 Special this weekend from New Japan. Can Cody win TWO World Titles in 8 days? Will Billy Gunn (yes Mr. Ass) beat Tanahashi for his title?!

The Internet exploded after James Ellsworth captured the WOMEN’S Money In The Bank Briefcase and handed the win to Carmella. Fans were disgusted by a man securing the briefcase, other applauded WWE’s evocative finish. Was it a great work or a tone deaf storyline gone astray. We discuss the nuance of being worked as a wrestling fan.

Before that, we set off the podcast paying homage to the QB General Prodigy of Mobb Deep who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 42. Jeff talks the Dun Language and reminisces on great memories.

The Team also discusses Roman Reigns vs BRAUN, Big Cass’s Heel Turn, Okada-Omega II and preview the G1 Climax and ROH’s Best in the World PPV.

At 57:00 We dive into some interesting comics news, including the John Wick prequel comic, Conan The Barbarian and Wonder Woman’s team-up, and the Sony/MCU “situationship” with these various spin-offs.

There’s a new MAHARAJA in town, and we’re here to talk about it! This week on CxW, we discuss the ongoing Broken Universe War between the Hardy’s and Impact Wrestling, The Women’s Money In The Bank Match, Goldust & Shattered Dreams Productions taking it back to ’96, Finn and Paul Heyman’s confrontation, and give our overall impressions of NXT Takeover: Chicago and Backlash.

In our Main Event, it’s all about Jinder Mahal. We talk about his improbable WWE Title win, what it means going forward, Xenophobic heat and the “evil foreigner” heel gimmick, and the direction/length of his title reign.

In Comics news, we talk Tom Hardy as Venom and the Sony building a universe around Spider-Man characters (possibly without Spider-Man), Black Lightning coming to the CW, Red Dead Redemption delays, and Zach Snyder stepping down from Justice League. You also get some bonus “Best of the Super Juniors” talk, too!

That’s the theme for this week as pro wrestling has been emulated and excoriated equally across pop culture. Jeff, Bre, Marcus and Chris Mac talk about the future WWE Women’s Champion and child of Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan, Birdie Danielson’s birth [1:45], The Canelo-Chavez Jr. fight that ended with a NJPW esque showdown between Canelo and GGG [3:45], Jared Followill of King’s of Leon (they’re still alive?!) trashing pro wrestling and subsequently getting escorted out the paint by Wrestling Twitter [5:45] which led to an overall discussion of the art of pro wrestling and why the condescending, pompous and corny derision from the “Wrestling is Fake” community needs to cease. We preview the ROH/NJPW War of The Worlds PPV and the solid card that is sure to please wrestling fans [20:00].

In WWE talk, we discuss the injuries rampant across the E and how they’ll affect feuds [30:00], Why overseas RAW shows are so bad [35:00] USOS/Breezango appreciation [40:00], How Smackdown’s top three feuds (RKO/Jinder, AJ/KO, Zayn/Corbin) completely dwarf RAW’s top three (Seth/Joe, Finn/Bray, Miz/Dean), and how we see these feuds playing out [43:00].

In Comics talk, we discuss Free Comic Book Day and some of our favorite reads [58:00], The Hellboy reboot without Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro [1:05:00], Donald Glover as Executive producer, Showrunner, and writer on a new Deadpool animated series on FXX [1:06:00], and Black Lightning officially on its way to the CW [1:10:00].
